So given I've observed maximum performance of high bitrate complex video footage in 4K 60 FPS is best obtained through DXVA 2 native mode, and my CPU is kinda ancient and cant deal with software decoding, what exactly do I need to set in madVR to get it working so all my frames are under 16ms and it plays back 100% smooth? Ive spent some hours on this with trial and error, and I simply cant get for example HEVC Main P60 playing back properly in madVR.įor all of this Im using the latest madVR 64 bit and the latest beta of 圆4 xysubfilter, along with nightly 圆4 MPC-HC and 圆4 LAV Filters. He recommended I use madVR as he said that supports xysubfilter buffering and has suggested that if I configure the madVR settings properly I should have no problem with performance of madVR in 4K as a renderer. In fact if I disabled ISR buffering in MPC-HC I see the same performance problem in MPC-HC so I'm convinced thats the cause. Upon more testing I found there is a performance problem with xysubfilter and MPC-HC, and the Developer explained to me the root cause is because currently MPC-HC does not buffer xysubfilter subtitles - only the ISR does buffering. Then I discovered the xysubfilter and how it looked better than the ISR of MPC-HC and it also seemed to be more robust with correctly doing punctuation and so on in the subtitles. I have been up till now using the EVR-CP, as I found in native mode DXVA 2 playing back complex HEVC high bitrate 4K footage at 60 FPS, I couldnt get madVR to perform in the 16ms cadence needed for 60 FPS video. My hardware is a GTX 960 with an old sandy bridge CPU, displaying in a HTPC context to a 65" curved 3D LED LCD display, it can do 10 bit colour and UHD at 3840x2160P60Hz. So if enough people pedge with their credit card / paypal account you can confirm it and start recompiling it.So I have been doing allot of testing on various open source video projects, mostly on MPC-HC 圆4 and LAV filters 圆4 nightlies. Maybe open Kickstarer project or open donations area for 64bit version. I know that for average viewer that is not a critical thing, but for some people it's unacceptable. With reclock activated that split second judder just dissappears. Without Reclock at best case scenarion you get a 0.3 second judder every 40-60 seconds of the video (24fps on 24hz display). I tried several solution to frame judder and Reclock is surely the best. With latest build it's a real improvement. In addition, CPU/GPU strain is considerably lower on 64bit version compared to 32bit version of MPC-HC. If you want to keep Reclock with HDR you need a 64bit version. Some HDR content is almost not playable on 32bit version considering CPU strain.

With HDr content 64 bit version of MPC is quite an improvement over 32 bit version. I would pay for 64 bit version of Reclock. My needs are: PAL speedup compensation, and ability to dynamically set speaker output config to match source. MediaPortal's audio renderer doesn't support PAL 25 to 23.976 compensation so it's useless for me, and I don't want to use a proprietary solution like JRiver, so I guess I would have to migrate to Kodi if for some reason I couldn't use ReClock anymore in the future.ĭoes anybody know other software that has ReClock-like functionality? I admit with HEVC and VP9 seeing more and more use it's become a bit difficult for my aging E7400 to keep up with them in 32-bit software decode so I can still use ReClock, so I'm hoping that a really low power graphics card that supports decoding those formats will be released soon (some GeForce 1040 or Radeon 450 would be nice ).

However IMHO they have yet to get to the same full feature set of ReClock and that's why I'm still using it. I also remember he said ReClock is almost dead because there are now other applications that have integrated (most of its) functionality (JRiver, Kodi and MediaPortal are the ones that come to my mind).

If you already bought them you can buy a gift license for someone. If I remember correctly, James always said if we wanted to pay for ReClock we could buy other Redfox products.
